These line voltage models of Dimplex thermostats mount directly into a standard 2 x 4-inch vertical electrical outlet box. The process of installing the single pole thermostats is different than the double pole ones. So, we’ll discuss them separately. 

Single Pole Thermostat Installation

Here are the steps to install a single-pole thermostat.

  1. To prevent product damage or electric shock, disconnect the power supply.
  2. Draw line voltage wiring up to the location of the thermostat.
  3. Make sure not to remove the cover of the thermostat.
  4.  Connect L1 to the red LINE lead that is on the thermostat. 
  5. Connect the line lead on the heater to the black LOAD lead that’s on the thermostat.
  6. To the remaining line of the heater, connect the N Neutral or L2 line.
  7. Make sure that the ground wire is secured to the ground screw provided in the outlet box. 
  8. Check to see if all connections are tightly secured.
  9. Taking care not to harm the sensing device or any of the wiring, insert wires into the outlet box.
  10. Now, remove the thermostat cover. Hold the cover by the sides and start pulling it away from the base of the thermostat.
  11. Using the two supplied screws, mount the thermostat base into the wall box. Don’t tighten the mounting screws too much.
  12. Put the thermostat cover back in its place.

Double Pole Thermostat Installation

The following Dimplex thermostats instruction are for installing a double-pole thermostat.

  1. To prevent product damage or electric shock, disconnect the power supply.
  2. Draw line voltage wiring up to the location of the thermostat.
  3. Make sure not to remove the cover of the thermostat.
  4. Connect the leads on the thermostat heater to the black LOAD leads that you’ll find on the thermostat. 
  5. From the power supply panel, connect the line leads to the red LINE leads on the thermostat.
  6. Make sure that the connections you made are all tight.
  7. Taking care not to harm the sensing device or any of the wiring, insert wires into the outlet box. 
  8. Make sure that the ground wire is secured to the ground screw provided in the outlet box. 
  9. Now, remove the thermostat cover. Hold the cover by the sides and start pulling it away from the base of the thermostat.

  11. Put the thermostat cover back in its place.

How to Remove The Thermostat Index Plate?

To remove the index plate, you’ll need a small flat screwdriver. If you don’t have one, use any other suitable tool. Gently pry up one of the slots that are on the index plate with the screwdriver. 

Now, line up the index plate pins with the thermostat knob’s holes to reinstall the index plate. Push to secure the index plate on the thermostat knob.
