Whitfield Pellet Stove Control Board Flashing [3 Easy Solutions]

As you know, faulty wires can be devastating. In this segment, we will be finding the reasons for such occurrences and solving them in a few easy steps.

1. Damaged Wires

Due to an overvoltage, the wires of your Whitfield Pellet Stove Control panel may have been fried. In such cases, you will have to inspect the problem first. Then you might look for ways to solve it.

Solution:

  • The first sensible thing to do in such circumstances is to look for burned or damaged components of the control panel.
  • If you spot any loose or fried wires, replace them with similar wiring and your control panel should come back online.

2. Faulty Thermostat

Many of you might be wondering about this, but the thermostat can stop the control panel from responding. You see, the control board mainly controls the temperature settings of your Whitfield Pellet Stove.

However, a damaged thermostat may act as an open jumper, stopping the control board from responding properly.

Solution:

  • Disconnect the thermostat from the control board. You will have to remember the sockets of the thermostat though.
  • Now, take a jumper wire and short-circuit the thermostat sockets. The term, short-circuit refers simply to connecting both ends of the pins.
  • Then, turn the stove on. If the control board starts responding, your thermostat is damaged.
  • You will have to order a new thermostat and install it to get it fixed.
  • Many of you might not need the thermostat that much. In such cases, you can leave the jumper wire the way it is.

3. Dirt And Rust

Many may neglect this but, dirt and rust can become your biggest enemies. Oftentimes, rusty jumper wires or clogged wire connections can restrict the operations of your Whitfield pellet stove.

Solution:

  • Make sure that all the connections are intact and not harmed in any way.
  • If you spot a rusty or unattended jumper wire connection, replace it with a new one.
  • Run it back again to ensure that the control panel is back online.

    • Hi Kevin

Generally, the auger won’t turn due to a motor failure, or faulty pressure switch. Plus, the auger won’t turn if it is clogged from debris and pellets.
As your auger motor is new, check the pressure switch whether it is ok or not, and clean all debris and pellets.

It would be wise, first, unplug the stove to open the compartment and check the new motor also, is it placed correctly or not, and then clean the unit properly.

If it doesn’t work, take help from the Pel Pro pellet stove service center. First, check the owner’s manual to see for warranty as your unit is only 1 and 1/2 years old.

      Thanks.
