1. A Faulty Stove Wiring

A faulty wiring or defective internal component is the main culprit for causing such a problem. Also, if there is no proper power supply in the unit, it will cause an electrical fault in the unit.

So, the first duty is to check the power supply of the unit. No worries. We are including the step-by-step procedures to perform this job:

Solution:

  • First of all, check the socket where your stove is connected. Make sure there are no defects. Don’t forget to fix tripped circuit breaker. Replace the circuit if needed.
  • Now check the visible individual wiring of the blower, igniter, and motor of the stove. Replace the defective and cracky wires.
  • Then, measure the voltage of your pellet stove. Use a multimeter for this. A pellet stove needs up to 115 volts for fluent operating.

2. Dirty Unit

To ensure the fluent working of any pellet stove is needed to clean the unit periodically. Without properly cleaning the stove, it attacks several problems in the appliance.

But before moving through the cleaning, you should know the right way to clean. Otherwise, you will mistakenly damage the entire soft components.

Solution:

  • First of all, turn off the unit and unplug it from the main outlet.
  • Leave the stove and let it cool properly.
  • Now start cleaning. Open the door of the window.
  • Take a vacuum cleaner and suck up all the ashes from the burn pot first.
  • Then remove the burn pot and clean it individually. Never use aggressive detergent for cleaning.
  • Now, look at the hopper. Remove all the clogged debris from it.
  • Then, vacuum the ashes from the ignition tube and combustion chamber.
  • Now reassemble the burn pot and push it back to the unit.
  • Finally, wipe down the glass door with a damp cloth.
  • Your stove is now cleaned. Plugin the stove and turn it on.

3. Stove Not Feeding Pellets

If your pellet stove is turning off constantly, there might be incorrectly feeding the pellets. There are several reasons for pellets are not feeding:

  • Jammed Auger
  • Blocked air inlet
  • Defective auger motor
  • Clogged chimney pipe
  • Wrong adjustment of the hopper
  • Don’t get hassle.

Solution:

  • First, turn off the stove and disconnect it from the main socket. Now scrutinize the stove.
  • Check the hopper and igniter tube. Clean them first.
  • Refill the hopper with enough pellets and assemble it correctly.
  • Always use high-quality pellets for burning.
  • Now come to the auger. Unclog the debris from the auger.
  • Check the auger motor as well. Remove all the debris from it. Replace the motor if there is any defect.
  • Don’t miss cleaning the air inlet. Thus it will ensure you proper venting. Reassemble the unit correctly and turn it back on.

4. Poor Air Adjustment

Faulty air flowing is one of the main reasons behind turning off the stove frequently. For lacking airflow, the stove will fail to produce enough heat.

For this, the sensors are not getting proper heat transmitted towards them. You can easily fix the issue by following methods:

Solution:

  • The first step is cleaning the venting pipe.
  • Remove all the clogged debris from the pipes. You may contact a professional technician for performing this job perfectly.
  • Also, it is needed to adjust the pipe in the right position.
  • Adjust the air damper correctly.
  • Replace the components if you find any defect in any above ones.
  • Now check the door whether it is quite closed or not. Always keep the door shut off while using it.

5. Defective Combustion Blower

combustion blower is also the main reason behind this issue. When the combustion blower is not spinning highly, it will prevent the venting switch from sensing the air correctly.

Thus, the stove will automatically shut off. Quickly fix this issue:

Solution:

  • Turn off the stove and let it be cool.
  • Now unscrew the side panel of the stove and remove the blower.
  • Check the motor. If there are any obstacles to spinning, remove that. Replace the motor if needed.
  • You may need to replace the combustion blower with a new one if you find severe defects in it.

    • Hi Angie

First, try cleaning your heater completly as either the air or the fuel is being blocked from getting the fire. Also, clean the heat exchanger, combustion chamber and hopper throughly. Check the blower setting whether it is okay or not because incorrect blower setting also could be the reason behind the pellet stove shutting off.

If it doesn’t work, take help from a technician.

      Thanks.
