Warm Morning Gas Heater Troubleshooting [6 Easy Solutions]
People generally rely on gas heaters to keep themselves warm in winter. They may often show difficulties while using it. Here are seven problems that may occur in a heater while functioning and affect productivity.
The best possible solutions are given along with them. Read this article carefully before you go to professionals.
1. Dirt In The Filter
The first issue you should look at is the air filtration system. Warm morning gas heater filters get blocked over time. Dirt and dust may quickly clog the filter.
Slowing velocity, decreasing air quality, and even stopping the heater from completely turning on is a common heater issue. There is a danger of fire and early failures due to the high amounts of dust and contaminants.
Inspect your air filter after one month. Bring your filter to a light source to examine whether light can readily pass it. Otherwise, it needs to be cleaned or replaced.
Remember to point the arrows on your new filter in the direction of the airflow. Make sure the access panel is securely locked. The sensor switch on the machine is capable of turning off the heating.
It detects if the boiler is obstructed and shuts off. To get this fixed, you first clean the wire connection carefully. You will find the two wires on the back of the unit. Connect them if they are loose or disconnected.
2. Dirty Pilot
If you check on the heater flame and it is out, you must keep burning it. At the same time, you may combust the pilots on your own, use caution and refer to your owner’s manual for specific instructions.
Commonly, the pilot orifice will be piled up with dirt. It restrains the heater from working correctly. The pilot flames get small and weak.
We first need to disconnect the silver tube and blow the dirt with an electronic cleaner. It would help if you moved aside the burner to get the silver tube.
3. Thermocouple issue
The device’s sensor switch likely turns off the heater. It discovers that the flue has become blocked and has ceased to function. The thermocouple cannot work when the vent holes are clogged, and because of it, your heater cannot create heat.
If your pilot does not remain lighted, you most likely have a thermocouple issue. Dust might gather on the thermocouple and obstruct the sensor.
First, blow the dirt off the thermocouple and relight the pilot. If it still doesn’t work, you might need to replace it.
In such a case, you can watch the video.
4. Low Gas Level
There might be a blockage in the main gas line, and the gas level might well be lower. Therefore you could face difficulties because the heater is starving for gas.
First, clean the main gas line, unplug it from the heater, and blast it through using compressed air. Check the gas level.
If the gas level is below the required level, you should refuel it as soon as possible. Check if there is any gas leak.
5. Wrong Positioning Of The Photovoltaic Cell
The thermocouple rod may not be in the correct position to be enveloped by the flame. There is a risk that the photovoltaic cell in your heater is incorrect. The warm morning gas heater has two types of photocells.
They have varying levels of longevity, but they all look and function the same. The problem is that they cannot be transferred. Because it may be pushed down at times, or a little pressure release is not keeping it in place properly.
Consider the placement of your thermocouple to ensure that it is not getting false readings from sunlight, candles, stoves, space heaters, or any other heat source. If the thermocouple is given improper input, it will produce an inappropriate output.
To be sure, swap the two photocells between them. Unless they were attached to the incorrect places, you might be able to observe the outcome.
Photocells are sometimes just coated with dirt and oil. Those must be cleaned manually using a wet cloth. It is a helpful method of troubleshooting a warm morning gas heater.
6. Heating Coil issue
Gas devices sometimes damage electrical parts that may fail over time. Though the unit would not turn on to heat, even when it is plugged in, the breaker is turned on, and there is no apparent reason for the machine not to operate.
This is a red flag for your concern. In this situation, it is most likely a heating coil problem, which may be readily identified with an electric tester.
If your heater is still under warranty, get it fixed, but if it isn’t, you may repair the heating coil yourself by simply swapping out the components.
When the machine causes a breaker to shut down every time the unit attempts to heat, this is another clue that something is amiss with the gas heater component.
Unless you are familiar with electrical work and know how to detect and repair a shorting item, contact a professional right away if the breaker is tripping.
Why is my natural gas heater always shutting down?
If your heater often shuts down, it might be due to a lack of ventilation. Several secondary concerns cause low airflow—dirty filters. If you do not usually replace your air filters, they will get dusty and clogged, causing the heat exchanger to hold heat and ultimately overheat.
What is the procedure for resetting a gas wall heater?
Reconnect the electricity, then the primary gas supply. For roughly 30 seconds, you were pressing and holding the reset button. Raise the temperature on your thermostat to the appropriate level. Your heater should light up as a result of this.
Where is my flame sensor?
A heater flame sensor is a fundamental component of your heater. It is a thin metal rod that is situated on the burner engine. It is generally curved and sits directly in front of the furnace’s pilot flame.
Can gas wall heaters catch fire?
Fire is the most dangerous to your house while utilizing these heating systems. A fire threat exists despite the absence of open flames, flammable oils, gases, or readily ignitable materials such as wood.
Should the pilot light always be on in a gas wall heater?
By leaving the gas on, this chemical is kept moving out of the tubes. Keeping the pilot light on will also keep moisture out of the device, which will benefit corrosion prevention. As you can see, it is usually preferable to turn off the pilot light in your gas heater during the months when you do not need heat.
We hope you have found a solution to your Warm morning gas heater problems. By understanding more about what may go wrong with your heater, you can take precautions to avoid disasters and enjoy the extended winter in perfect comfort.

How do I clean the main burner, as it does not burn even from one end to the other end. I have never done that before. Please explane that to me, Thanks – Bernie
Watching the video will be helpful for you.
Best of luck!
I have an older model ( I do not know the year when we bought our house ) . The heater worked great 3 years and now the flame will not adjust to low – even when the temp knob is in the low position…The temp knob on the top will turn the control on the regulator ( inside lower section ) but the flame will not adjust
To fix the issue, it would be wise to take help from the owner’s customer support center or a professional.
Best of luck!
